SmallConvert converts images between PNG, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, through this website and through the API. Files up to 100 MB are accepted, and a converted file is available to download for 1 hour before it is deleted.

One credit converts one image, whether the request came from the website or the API. There is one balance and it is spent by both.

• Plan credits expire. Credits included with a monthly or annual plan are valid for the period you bought, and unused credits do not carry over into the next one.
• Prepaid credits do not expire. Credits bought as a one-off pack stay on your account until you spend them.
• When you have both, the credits that expire soonest are spent first, so nothing is wasted that did not have to be.
• A conversion that fails is refunded automatically. You are not charged for our errors.

100 conversions a day, no account required, counted against your IP address. Requests are also rate limited to 60 an hour. The free tier is offered as-is and may change.

Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep what you bought until then. You can cancel at any time from the billing page.

Prices may change, but not for a period you have already paid for. If we raise the price of a plan you are on, you will be told before it applies to you.

Unused credits are not refundable, since plan pricing is built around them expiring. If something has genuinely gone wrong, email us — we would rather fix it than argue about it.

You keep every right you had in the images you upload. We claim no ownership and take no licence beyond what is needed to run the conversion you asked for and hand back the result.

You are responsible for having the right to convert what you upload. Do not upload material you do not have permission to process.

• Upload material that is illegal, or that you have no right to use.
• Upload child sexual abuse material. Accounts doing so are terminated immediately and reported.
• Work around the rate limits or the free daily allowance — sharing keys, rotating IPs, or running many accounts to avoid paying.
• Resell the service as though it were your own conversion infrastructure.
• Attack the service: probing for holes, overwhelming it, or interfering with anyone else's use of it.

We may suspend an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you why first.

A key is yours to look after. Anything done with your key is treated as done by you, so revoke a key you think has leaked — you can do that yourself, and it takes effect immediately.

We work to keep the service running and correct, but it is provided as-is. There is no uptime guarantee on any tier today, and we do not promise the service will be free of interruption.

Keep your own copies of anything that matters. Converted files are deleted after 1 hour by design, and we cannot recover one afterwards.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

You can stop using the service or delete your account whenever you like. We may end an account that breaks these terms. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give notice and refund the unused portion of any plan you have paid for.
